We are pleased to announce the 2026 Director & Officer SIM Training: Balance Sheet Management and Interest Rate Risks; A Simulation-Based Learning Experience for Bank Directors/Officers will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Bristol, CT beginning at 9:00 a.m. and running until 4:30 p.m. Registration and refreshments will be available at 8:30 a.m.
This session is unique in its use of a financial modeling tool to simulate management decisions over three years of banking. Reacting to a changing economic and rate environment, directors will pull the levers and toggle the switches in an immersive “do-it-yourself” exercise.
Join us for a day of interactive learning. Operating in teams of 3 to 5*, including a management coach from your bank’s C-Suite, bank directors will make all the decisions while competing against other teams to bring a struggling bank back to health. Our case study, baseline financials and regulatory cease and desist order will be provided in advance to set the stage. We’ll spend time reviewing the premise and key performance metrics that we’ll be analyzing, and then, in three annual cycles, teams will set rates competing for loan production and deposit share, manage the balance sheet inclusive of an investment portfolio, and make key strategic decisions relative marketing, systems and hiring/firing of loan officers.
This bank simulation day provides a unique opportunity to control the destiny of a bank in trouble. Through the exercise participants will get to see how the decisions they make as a "for-the-day" bank leadership team impacts the bank's performance over a three-year period. Team spirit, camaraderie, trash-talking and winner bragging rights are strongly encouraged!
