Position Summary: Achieves individual and branch sales goals. Establishes strong branch sales culture. Promotes Bank's products and services. Ensures courteous customer service. Directs, controls and monitors the efficient and accurate operations of a branch office. Accepts and processes mortgage applications and is licensed as required under the SAFE (Safe and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing) Act.  Underwrites and approves consumer loans up to designated limits. Ensures compliance with all applicable Bank, Federal and State regulations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manages sales process. Achieves individual and department sales goals. Provides planning and time management techniques to ensure sales management remains top priority. Establishes a positive sales culture through training, observation, motivation and coaching; consistently reinforces sales performance standards. Increases customer relationships; sells and refers all products and services, ensuring product knowledge of all staff.


In partnership with other divisions, solicits business through a developed and consistent calling program; establishes and cultivates client relationships; develops referral base to expand community and industry contacts.


Maintains and demonstrates positive customer service orientation. Responds promptly to customer inquiries or concerns. Monitors branch-wide customer relations to assure the continuous provision of professional, comprehensive service.


Oversees daily operations of branch office, daily settlement and scheduling of staff.  Ensures staff knowledge and adherence to established policies and procedures.


Prepares, reviews, and submits periodic sales, volume, and/or activity reports; suggests corrective actions as appropriate.


Supervises all branch personnel. Manages all employee relations activities within the branch. Resolves grievances and conflicts, serves as liaison between management and staff; performs and documents all disciplinary action. Interviews and selects all staff personnel and participates in the selection of supervisory staff. Prepares and conducts performance appraisals.


Generates, underwrites and approves consumer loans up to designated limits.  Prepares required documentation.  Closes and collects consumer loans.  Accepts and processes mortgage loan applications.  Is licensed as required under the SAFE (Safe and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing) Act. Performs pre-qualification analysis. Increases mortgage activity through realtor and other professional relationships.


Researches and prepares branch operating budget.  Administers approved budget: authorizes expenditures, justifies variances and documents all activities.


Maintains branch security, including dual control, vault combinations, alarms, cameras, etc.  Monitors and enforces compliance with Bank and government security regulations.


Ensures branch compliance with applicable Bank, State and Federal regulations and laws. Monitors and enforces adherence.


Participates in business development activities; establishes and cultivates relationships with community, industry, and professional contacts to promote bank’s image and attract new business.


Maintains knowledge of current developments in branch and banking operations through review of literature and participation in seminars and continuing education programs.


Monitors overall physical condition of branch office:  recommends repairs and maintenance as needed.

Performs other related functions as required.


Knowledge and Skills: Position requires strong sales skills, thorough knowledge of retail financial products and services, understanding of branch banking operations, basic knowledge of consumer loan underwriting guidelines and policies, and familiarity with banking operations in general.  Demonstrated supervisory skills are also required, as is familiarity with financial transaction processing system. CT State Life and Health licensing to sell annuities and life insurance to qualified applicants.  Registered as required under the SAFE (Safe and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing) Act.


Typical Recruiting Specifications: Completion of four years of college or equivalent experience plus at least five years of branch banking experience, including sales experience and time spent as customer service representative and at least two to three years in a supervisory capacity.

Scope: Functional supervision of branch staff of 2 to 7 employees. Lending authority:  as established by Lending Committee.

Work Environment:  Normal office environment.

Physical Effort:  Occasional lifting and carrying; stands or walks most of day


Candidates who do not meet the minimum requirements for the position will not be considered.

Wage Range: $85,312 - $125,000 plus incentives

Salary commensurate with experience
